Fire pits, or fireplaces, are outdoor fixtures that provide an attractive focal point for your outdoor living space. Even in the cooler months, you can use fire pits to keep your home cozy and warm.
Outdoor log fire pits are also available in various sizes, shapes, and designs to accommodate any backyard retreat. Some factors to consider when choosing a stand-alone fire pit include the type of wood or fuel you want it to use, the size; the type of heat source; its weight; its design; and how it is made.
The best free-standing fire pits need to be large enough to accommodate a good amount of logs. They should also have a lid that can come off and accommodate more logs. If you want a cool outdoor fire pit, then an extra-large wood fire pit would be the best choice for you.
What is the size of the fireplace opening? This will be your main point of interest when choosing a free-standing fire pit. A larger opening will give you more options as far as how many logs you can use.
There are many different types of fire pits that you can purchase. Some come in a package that includes the grate, the stand, and the lid. Some come in individual pieces, and they can be set up without any help.
One of my favorite places to purchase a fire pit is on Amazon. When I was looking for a free-standing wood fire pit, I found one with a lid and stand included. This allows me to start it up right away and enjoy cooking or burning some wood without having to do too much work in the process.
